PATIENT EDUCATION
PREPARE:
Before your lash appointment, shower and clean your face with water and a gentle cleanser before your visit. New lashes should not get wet for at least 24 hours after application. Avoid application of mascara at least 24 hours in advance. Avoid waterproof mascara and eyeliner for at least 1 week. Avoid any oil around your eyes for 24-48 hr prior to lash application. Arrive make-up free on the day of the appointment. Avoid any type of caffeine to avoid any fluttering of the eyes.
BEFORE:
Work directly with our lash expert professional to design and select a completely custom lash look. We will do an extensive consultation prior to the appointment where we will discuss your personal style, your lifestyle, your desired look. Once we begin you will be lying down with your eyes closed during the entire procedure. The timing of the appointment depends on the lash set you choose and number of lashes applied. More lashes = more time. Each appointment will last a minimum of 1 hour to 2.5 hours.
DURING:
Each extension is applied one by one to your own natural lashes using a medical grade adhesive. Don’t worry, the adhesive does not touch the skin. We have several types of adhesive including adhesive for sensitive skin. The adhesive is latex-free.
AFTER:
Aftercare is the most important part of lash extensions. First off, avoid water or moisture for the first 24 hours after lash application. This includes sweating, steam, sauna, swimming, or just taking a bath. After the first 24 hours, do not be afraid to wash your face daily. It is crucial to keep the lash surface area free from bacteria buildup around the eye. Not washing can lead to irritation and infection. We recommend brushing your lashes on the daily to avoid tangling and twisting that can happen during sleep. Do not rub your eyes or pull on your lashes to avoid damage to your natural lashes. Do not try to remove the lashes on your own please as this can also cause damage to your natural lashes. For longer lasting lashes, we recommend avoiding eye products that consist of oil-based ingredients. You can swim and workout with your lash extensions. Keep in mind that salt water is a solvent and may weaken the adhesive. We recommended no waxing, peels, or chemical treatments near the time before and after the appointment.
MAINTENANCE:
Touch ups for lashes are necessary about every 2-3 weeks based on your aftercare and lifestyle activity. We are unable to do touch ups after 4 weeks (exception based only). Know that it is natural for a few lashes to shed during the initial days after lash application. In order to have your lashes removed, note that you must have your lashes removed by a professional only! Do not attempt to try and remove them yourself as you are highly likely to cause damage to your natural lashes. If you experience any irritation and/or have any concerns, we reach out to us directly. Note that mild irritation and redness after lash extension application is normal and will pass after 24-48 hours.
